‘Bud Noir’ Encounters Maureen Dowd, NYT

Bud Noir, M.C (Ken Rynne), Maureen Dowd (Christy Stouffer) celebrate publication of Ms. Dowd’s book, “Are Men Necessary?” with the inspirational pulp fiction cover artwork.  It inspired this bit written by Ken Rynne.  An homage to Garrison Keillor’s Guy Noir, Private Detective.  Love the French.  An homage. Much nicer than say, a rip-off.   “Necessary” was also a good read.  But not as good as “Bush World.” I.M.H.O.

Maureen Dowd Battles Congressman “Bud Noir”

Minnesota Public Radio’s Garrison Keillor may have Guy Noir, Private Eye,

but Planet Washington has “Bud Noir, Member of Congress.”

In a scene from Hexagon 2006 – “You Only Run Twice,” Ken Rynne, as Bud Noir, matches wits with a certain scribe from the New York Times (played by Christy Stouffer) and author of the recently released page-turner with the impertinent title “Are Men Necessary?”  The scene was written by Planet Washington’s Ken Rynne who originated the Bud Noir role in 2006 – an “homage” to Garrison Keillor (the French do have a way of making “rip off” sound so, chic).
