Mitt: Miss Me Yet?

LIVE PERFORMANCE!!! Planet Washington’s Ken Rynne does it again. Wicked funny parody ‘honoring’ the GOP’s likely nominee for Prez, that dog-loving, wealth-creating, prep school prankster Mitt Romney to the tune of “That’s Amore.” (“When the moon hits your eye — so you offer to BUY!” That’s Mitt Romney!”) Former Hill aide and lawyer Ken Rynne ‘splains DC in hilarious – often true – stories and wicked funny songs. Like Jon Stewart’s Daily Show…with great music and Hill experience.

That’s Mitt Romney   Parody of That’s Amore By Ken Rynne

In politics where gold is king/
When boy meets nomination here’s what they sing:/

When the Moon hits your eye / so you offer to BUY! /That’s Mitt Romney
When your eyes always shine / though you never drink wine /That’s Mitt Romney

Cash box rings / ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling/ he “Bain of Your Existence”
Positions ‘Steep,’ / tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay/ With Tea Party assistance.

When you’ve more than one house/ and a stay at home spouse/ That’s Mitt Romney. When some income they miss/ cause your banker is Swiss/ You’re in dough.

When you’re biggest “quote” goof, is a dog on the roof?!?!?!?!/ well excuuuuuse me!!! Come November, next fall/ Who’d ‘outsource’ Democrats all?/ That’s Mitt Romney!

Motivational Ken: From Lawyer, Banker to Humorist. Ken’s “Rags from Riches” Story

INSIDE E STREET interviewed Ken at The Monocle Restaurant on Capitol Hill – about Ken’s ‘second career’ as a political humorist – and lessons learned from starting one’s own business.

Ken’s truly rediculous evolution from lawyer, Hill staffer, banker to humorist (his “rags from riches” story) was recounted in the 2010 almost best selling ‘What’s Next? Follow Your Passion and Find Your Dream Job’ by Kerry Hannon, Business Editor, US News & World Report (Chronicle Books 2010).

Planet Washington’s "Most Creative" Ken Rynne Wins Foundation Support – Grantmakers’ Annual Meeting – DC’s Arena Stage

So you liked the musical RENT?  You’ll love GRANT!

At a recent private show, Planet Washington performed an original parody at the new Arena Stage in DC for the annual meeting of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers (WRAG), the 100 largest private foundations in the greater Washington region! “Grantmaker!”  (parody of “Matchmaker” from “Fiddler on the Roof”).

We were accompanied by Planet Washington’s Frank Plumer and joined in song by some very talented and enthusiastic members of local foundations on stage and throughout the audience.  There was a voluntary sing-along for all members attending the luncheon!

The featured luncheon speaker — addressed Creativity — and was delighted with our show — deeming us one of the true creatives!

Many thanks to the Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation for sponsoring the outstanding entertainment – including Planet Washington!

Ken Rynne & Planet Washington is available to entertain your next event – and to write an original ditty  to delight your guests or honorees!

‘Bud Noir’ Encounters Maureen Dowd, NYT

Bud Noir, M.C (Ken Rynne), Maureen Dowd (Christy Stouffer) celebrate publication of Ms. Dowd’s book, “Are Men Necessary?” with the inspirational pulp fiction cover artwork.  It inspired this bit written by Ken Rynne.  An homage to Garrison Keillor’s Guy Noir, Private Detective.  Love the French.  An homage. Much nicer than say, a rip-off.   “Necessary” was also a good read.  But not as good as “Bush World.” I.M.H.O.
